In this session we will go over some of the research I have done on gender and dance history, including photos and stories, share some ideas around gender-free dance calling, and then open the session to everyone to discuss the philosophy of gender-free calling, how this style of calling and dancing can be useful, share examples how to do it, translating dances, exploring the different styles to pick from and for callers to share their own stories and experiences. I will be providing manuals to borrow in class as a useful guide. These manuals will be the base from which a book will soon be written.
