Callers’ Scholarship Application
Ralph Page Event: January 10 and 11, 2025

As the Ralph Page weekend continues to build back after a COVID hiatus, we are again offering Callers’ Scholarships to expose three newer callers to traditional New England contra dances. The goal is to broaden the scope of dances in their repertoire and to ensure that these traditional dances continue to be called and enjoyed in the future. Successful Scholarship applicants will receive free admission to the event (Friday and Saturday), be mentored by staff callers and be able to network with other callers, musicians, dance organizers and dancers.
Expectations:
- Attend both Friday and Saturday, including the Saturday workshop session focused on calling.
- Participate in the Callers’ Showcase
- Complete a reflection on your Ralph Page Event experience by February 1, 2025
Selection Criteria, but not limited to:
- Calling ‘career’ started within the past 5 years
- Calls full evening programs or events
- Current repertoire is primarily contemporary contra compositions
- Scholarship participants from geographically diverse regions (to spread the wealth)
The Ralph Page Dance Event Committee will select participants for 2025.
