We want people to be able to come regardless of means, so we’re offering a sliding scale of $70-$120. We’re predicting our break-even figure will be about $90/dancer, and the more you’re able to contribute the more we’re able to pay our musicians and let others attend below cost.
Why a ‘sliding scale’?
A sliding scale is a way of recognizing and accommodating individual dancer financial situation. The community is always welcoming new dancers, often young, at the beginning of their financial journey, keen to attend, but possibly a financial stretch.
Many in the community have been participating for decades, financially well established, able and willing to provide a larger financial contribution. The range of the sliding scale allows for a personal decision for admission.
$90 Break-even point: this is the amount we estimate will cover our costs for performers, venue, sound, and everything else. If everyone paid this, we’d come out ok.
But read on…
$70 Minimum: if you can only afford this much, that’s ok! We’d love you to be able to come and dance. If $70 is still too much, we recommend volunteering.
More than $90 offsets lower admissions and additional funds after expenses are paid to weekend performers.
Historically, the Ralph Page Dance Weekend has been one of the lowest priced admission rates in the country. NEFFA and the Ralph Page Dance Weekend Committee work hard to keep it affordable. We want to make sure that anyone who
wants to attend can.
Giving even more: Paying $100-$120 will allow us to give extra to our performers and help The Ralph Page Dance Weekend to continue in the future!
